  • This is an online/hybrid class that was originally designed for EMS providers who come in frequent contact with SAR teams or frequently is embeded with SAR teams as part of a strike team. The class provides a basic introduction to utilizing a compass and map, introduces the student to resource management, and develops awareness of unique medical challenges in diagnosing and managing conditions in the wilderness patient. This is offered in an online format with an in-person skills day. Skills days will be held at various locations when enough people have completed the online portion. PA EMS continuing education is available for both the online and in-person sessions. This class is recommended to be completed prior to taking CMUS and will in the future be required as a pre-requisite.

  • This class will provide intense review and re-introduction to some basic BLS equipment that can be utilized in stabilization and transport of patients injured or ill in a wilderness setting. The class views patient care through a SAR context and is ideal for EMS and SAR professionals who will be caring for patients outside of the typical “Street EMS” context. Students will have ample opportunity for hands on practice and skill building through immersive simulations and table top exercises.

Pre-requisites: BLS CPR (AHA), WFA or EMR or greater including RN, Advanced practice providers, and physicians. Others admitted on case-by-case basis.

Recommended: Search and Rescue for the Medic or SARTECHII or above.

  • We are thrilled to announce that the CMUS course has been upgraded and is approved to provide 58 hours of continuing education credits (CPC) for PA EMS providers.

The content will still retain our core material including full fledged evolutions but will also include content in wilderness medical problems. The content will be presented in a hybrid format to allow for maximum class time to apply your skills and knowledge.

  • We have added Search and Rescue Mission Management to our catalog of available courses. Check out the description here and then come back and sign up for a session!

  • We are thrilled to announce that we have gone through our Rescue Response for SAR course and revamped the content for relevancy and to maximize the student hands-on learning. The class is launching July 12 IN PERSON. Sign up before the spaces run out.
